THE SALTEN IN THE SNOW (april 2008)
Oil on canvas (39,4 x 15,7 inches)
I took some pictures of the "Salten" plateau (near San Genesio Atesino, Italy) after a heavy snowfall. I was astonished by the view with the trees in the foreground. There's a kind of purity and tranquillity in spite of the cloudy sky, something like the calm before or maybe after the storm.
Since I was a child I’ve been intrigued by the snow. In fact the day I was born there was a thick, never-ending snowfall.
